Description Grant Writer The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, managing the grant development and proposal process, and collaborating with BayMark personnel in the development process of responding to relevant grant opportunities. Essential Job Functions Monitor and register for grant databases, agency announcements, and funding alerts for new opportunities. Identify federal, state, local , and 3 rd Party grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs. Analyze eligibility criteria, funding priorities, and submission requirements for potential grants. Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings. Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and collections, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals. Create and track timeline of each grant opportunit y – including deadline dates, required materials, etc . Collaborate with leadership, program staff, and finance teams to develop grant narratives and budgets. Coordinates requirements with contributors and contributes proposal status information to review meetings. Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/ deliverable s , implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation. Successfully understand and communicate mission and vision of company applying for the grant Writes, revises, and edits drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials. Write compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with program goals and funding requirements. Ensure grant responses are in compliance with regulatory, funding, agency, and policy requirements Ensure grant applications are clear, concise, and compliant with grantor expectations. Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, obtaining approval s , and transmittal. Maintain and update registrations in SAM.gov (System for Award Management) and ensure compliance with federal grant requirements. Manage UEI (Unique Entity Identifier) numbers and ensure they are active and properly linked to funding applications. Ensure all necessary registrations, certifications, and compliance documents are up to date for grant applications Track and report on the status of submitted grants, including funding decisions and required follow-ups. Assist in responding to grantor questions or additional information requests. Negotiates contractual provisions with potential partners. Coordinating the pre-award planning, organization, preparation, and the post-award administration of various grants Enters and monitors tracking data. Provide necessary documentation and details to TCD/RDO after an award is received. Support the transition from grant application to implementation, ensuring compliance with grant conditions. Monitor grant renewal deadlines and assist in preparing renewal applications. Identify opportunities for expanding current grant-funded programs. Support leadership in developing long-term grant strategies. Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases. Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate. Stay updated on best practices in grant writing, funding trends, and regulatory changes. Participate in grant-related training, workshops, and industry events to enhance skills. Evaluate and refine the grant application process to improve success rates. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks. Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments Demonstrates the highest degree of professional and personal ethics in the execution of all work activities and duties and demonstrates an understanding of the Corporate Compliance Plan Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Minimum age requirement of 18. Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management , Organizational Management, or related field 4 or more related years of grant writing experience, preferably in a healthcare environment Strong research and writing skills with the ability to create compelling narratives. Strong understanding of healthcare terminology, public health policies, and medical research protocols. Experience in healthcare grant research and funding prospecting. Strong knowledge of healthcare funding sources and public health funding initiatives. Experience with grant writing for government agencies. Knowledge of grant compliance and reporting requirements. Familiarity with grant databases, funding directories, and online research tools. Attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex funding criteria. Strong communication and reporting skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple grant applications simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively with ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines. Accuracy and attention to detail and follow-through. Competence in verbal and written communication Knowledge & skills with Microsoft products & general computer literacy Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
