ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Respond to requests for medical assistance
- Assess medical situations, provide basic life support and advanced variances
- Perform drug and alcohol screenings
- Complete inventory review and inspect equipment
- Provide basic health services
- Assist with CPR and First Aid training
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Required Knowledge and Certification:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- Minnesota State Emergency Medical Technician License/Certificate
- 18 months experience actively working as an EMT
Preferred Knowledge and Certification:
- Basic Life Support instructor for American Heart Association
Required Skills:

- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Required Abilities:
- Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene

- Ability to prepare complete, concise reports
PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Must be able to walk and / or stand and sit for long periods throughout the day
- Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
- Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
- Must be able to reach and twist routinely
- Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
- Must have the ability to independently lift, drag or pull 110 pounds in short duration
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Must have good eye hand coordination
- Must be able to work 12-hours shifts independently
WORKING ENVIRONMENT - Work is performed throughout the entire property (indoors and outdoors, including the Tribal Community) and may include flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
- Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
- Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
